Green Treated Lumber

« Back to Glossary Index

Green treated lumber is wood that has been pressure treated with either a chromated copper arsenate, micronized copper, or other treatement process that leaves the wood with some additional degree of weatherproofness.

These treatments are often classified as above-ground, ground contact, or heavy duty ground contact, each for different levels of soil and water contact.

These chemical treatments generally make the wood more resistant to weather, water, and soaked soil and clay.
